Leather drivers gloves offer many of the durable aspects of leather palmed gloves coupled with better fit and dexterity. Four leather options and slip-on styling create comfortable gloves for the most rugged applications. Maintenance mechanics at hundreds of plants throughout industry depend on drivers gloves in their daily jobs. Features and Benefits · Drivers gloves feature slip-on styling to provide good fit and comfort. · A variety of leathers are used to make drivers gloves: - Top grain cowhide provides the best abrasion resistance and puncture resistance. - Split cowhide provides good abrasion resistance at a lower price than top grain. - Top grain Pigskin is a very pliable leather that will retain its softness even after being soaked in water and dried out. - Goatskin is one of the most durable leathers available. Very thin but very strong, goatskin has natural lanolin, which helps avoid skin chafing. The dexterity with goatskin is the best of the available leathers. · Color-coded hems denote sizing. Common Applications · Used in construction, machine operation, utility work, farming, and many other general applications. · Pigskin is preferred in wet applications, as it will return to its original pliability after being soaked. · Goatskin is used where tactile sensitivity and resistance to abrasion are of key importance. Available Features · All drivers gloves are available in sizes S-XL. Many styles also have sizes XS & XXL available. · Most styles available in straight and Keystone thumb versions. · Cowhide is available in Economy, Regular, Premium and “Best” grade leathers. · Pigskin is available in Regular and Premium grades. · Goatskin is available in Economy and Premium grades, as well as in clute cut versions and fingerless versions. · Most have shirred wrist for snug fit. Common Objections and Suggested Responses “Drivers gloves are just too expensive for our operation.” Suggest a lower grade. Often, a lower grade is just as effective and long lasting but not as good in appearance as some of the more expensive grades. “Drivers gloves wear out too quickly.” Evaluate why glove is wearing out. If because of abrasion, recommend a goatskin. If it is because they are working in wet applications, suggest a pigskin glove. “My drivers gloves are wearing out in the thumb crotch.” Suggest a keystone or inset thumb to provide better fit, dexterity and longer wear. |
