Unsupported Liquid Proof Gloves Information

Unsupported liquid proof gloves are made when ceramic molds are dipped in latex, nitrile or neoprene. Latex resists bases, acids, alcohols, and diluted solutions of most types of chemicals. Latex is often used in food processing to protect against animal fats and foods. Nitrile offers greater protection to animal fats – particularly red meats – oils, many solvents, esters and greases. Nitrile is highly resistant to snags and punctures. Neoprene has better resistance to oils, acids, caustics, and solvents than nitrile, however neoprene is less resistant to snags and puncture.

Available Features

 

·       Latex is available in 17, 18, 21, 30, 36, 44 and 52 mil. Thickness. Unlined styles are usually used for food processing applications. Flock-lined versions for general chemical applications.

·       Nitrile is available in 9, 11, 14, 15, 16, 19, 22, 24 and 28 mil. thickness. All very popular in food processing and chemical applications in industrial facilities.

·       Unsupported Neoprene is black, 19 mils thick, and available in flock lined version only. Blue Neoprene over yellow Latex is 28 mil. thick and is flock lined. Both offer better chemical resistance than Latex or Nitrile.

“My glove is too thick.”

Suggest a similar style with a different mil. thickness.

 

“My glove is breaking down too quickly with chemicals.”

Refer to your chemical resistance chart. Chances are, the wrong glove is being used. If the correct glove is being used, suggest a thicker glove for longer wear.
